Summoning the shadow on the sea

Ged sails westward, feeling the shadow's presence. He stands up in his boat and shouts aloud, summoning his shadow by name. The shadow appears, a dim, ill-made thing pacing on the waves. It has taken on a vague human shape. Ged raises the magewind and charges at it. The shadow, terrified, turns and flees. Ged pursues it across the sea, a wild chase through rain and mist. The shadow tries to trick him, leading him onto rocks, but Ged is relentless. He is no longer afraid; he is the hunter, and the fear now runs before him.
