Return to Iffish

Ged and Vetch sail back to Iffish. The journey takes sixteen days, and they are hungry and weary. They arrive in Ismay harbor on a quiet winter evening. They go to Vetch's house, where Yarrow runs to meet them, crying with joy. The story of Ged's first great deed is told, though it is said that the song of it has been lost. Ged has become a true wizard, whole and free, ready for the greater adventures that lie ahead. He has learned the most important lesson: that to be whole, one must accept all parts of oneself, even the shadow.
