Learning the Great Spells

Ged studies with the Master Changer and the Master Summoner. The Master Changer, impressed by his quickness, begins to teach him the true Spells of Shaping, giving him the Book of Shaping to study. This is done without the Archmage's knowledge and is unwise. The Master Summoner teaches him to summon real powers like light and heat, warning that using such spells can unbalance the world. Ged is uneasy with some of the summoning spells, which remind him of the shadow he saw in Ogion's house. He pushes these fears aside, believing that more knowledge will make him fearless.
