Horiki's Visits and the 'Society' Debate

Horiki begins to visit Yozo again, acting as a benefactor and lecturing him. Yozo internally rebels against Horiki's use of the word 'society,' concluding that society is nothing but an individual. This philosophical insight gives him a temporary sense of freedom, but he continues to drink heavily and pawn Shizuko's clothes to fund his binges.
