Late March, after the dinner with Flatfish
Runaway from Flatfish
Humiliated by Flatfish's mockery, Yozo runs away from the house at dawn, leaving a note saying he is visiting Horiki. He sells his books in Shinjuku and, with nowhere else to go, decides to actually visit Horiki. This marks a decisive break from his family's control and the beginning of his descent into a life of dependency.
