Yoshiko's Violation

While Yozo and Horiki are on the roof, Horiki goes downstairs and discovers Yoshiko being violated by the shopkeeper. He calls Yozo to witness the scene. Yozo is paralyzed by a profound, ancestral terror, not anger. This event cleaves him 'between the eyebrows,' a wound that will never heal. His hair turns prematurely grey from that night.
