Takeichi's Prophecies

After Yozo cleans his ears, Takeichi predicts that women will fall for him and that he will become a great painter. Yozo is disturbed by the first prophecy but inspired by the second. Takeichi also shows Yozo a reproduction of van Gogh's self-portrait, calling it a 'ghost picture,' which opens Yozo's eyes to a new, subjective way of painting. Yozo begins to create self-portraits in this 'ghost' style, hiding them from everyone except Takeichi.
