The Five Shillings Theft

The narrator leaves the shop with the stolen money. He goes to an eating-house and orders beef. He eats greedily but vomits soon after. He then drinks hot milk, which stays down. He returns home and finds the lady in black waiting for him. He speaks to her, and she agrees to let him accompany her home. She is Ylajali. They walk and talk, and she invites him to meet her again on Tuesday. She lifts her veil and kisses him passionately before running inside.
