after Milo buys Egyptian cotton
Milo's Syndicate Bombs the Squadron
To get out of debt from his disastrous purchase of the entire Egyptian cotton crop, Milo contracts with the Germans to bomb his own airfield. His planes attack the squadron, causing widespread destruction and casualties. Colonel Cathcart is horrified, but Milo justifies it as a profitable business deal. The attack is a shocking climax of Milo's amoral capitalism, demonstrating that for him, profit trumps all loyalties, including loyalty to his own countrymen.
