Yossarian's Session with Major Sanderson

Yossarian is sent to the psychiatrist, Major Sanderson, who is more interested in his own problems than Yossarian's. Sanderson diagnoses Yossarian with a split personality and declares him insane, but then sends him back to combat. The session is a farce of psychoanalysis, showing that the military's mental health system is just another tool for returning men to the front lines.
