Yossarian and the C.I.D. Man

Yossarian befriends a C.I.D. man who is posing as a patient in the hospital. The C.I.D. man is incompetent and easily fooled, and Yossarian enjoys manipulating him. The relationship is a comic subplot that underscores the theme of surveillance and paranoia.
