Yossarian and the Principle of 'Like Us'

Colonel Korn offers Yossarian a deal: he can go home if he agrees to 'like' him and Colonel Cathcart. The deal requires Yossarian to betray his principles and become a hypocrite. Yossarian initially accepts but then rejects the deal, choosing to run away instead. The principle of 'like us' is the ultimate expression of the system's demand for conformity and the corruption of individual integrity.
