A starving prisoner is taken to Room 101

A skull-faced man, dying of starvation, is brought into the cell. A chinless prisoner offers him a piece of bread, but the guard knocks it from his hand and then smashes his face with a blow, breaking his dental plate. Later the officer indicates the skull-faced man and says 'Room 101.' The man throws himself on his knees, begging to confess anything, offering his wife and children to be killed, but he is dragged away. The scene reveals the terror that Room 101 inspires, even among prisoners who have lost all dignity.
