during his recovery in the Ministry of Love
Winston cries out Julia's name
In a strange, blissful reverie, Winston imagines walking through the Golden Country, waiting for the bullet, with everything reconciled. Suddenly he starts up with a shock of horror, having cried aloud, 'Julia! Julia! Julia, my love! Julia!' He had a hallucination of her presence, as though she had got into the texture of his skin. He fears that the outburst will set back his re-education and add years to his servitude. He knows now that he must not only think right, but feel right, dream right.
